At 113 feet (34 m), it is the tallest lighthouse in the approaches to the Port of Boston, and is an important navigation aid for traffic to and from the port. It was built at the same time that the North Channel into Boston Harbor was dredged to become the principal entrance for large vessels. The Graves are the outermost rocks near the outer end of the North Channel.

The Henry Cabot Lodge House is a National Historic Landmark at 5 Cliff Street in Nahant, Massachusetts. It was designated as the only known residential building associated with United States Senator Henry Cabot Lodge (1850–1924). Lodge was a leading Republican politician who was a longtime associate of President Theodore Roosevelt, and an influential figure who led the successful opposition to the ratification of the Treaty of Versailles that ended World War I. It is unclear exactly when and for whom the Henry Cabot Lodge House was built.

Greenlawn Cemetery is a historic cemetery at 195 Nahant Road in Nahant, Massachusetts. Development of the 5.7-acre (2.3 ha) cemetery was one of the first civic projects of the town of Nahant after its separation from adjacent Lynn in 1853. The cemetery was established in 1856 on two acres (0.81 ha) of land, and has been extended several times to its present size.

The Nahant Civic Historic District consists of three civic buildings in the center of Nahant, Massachusetts. The town hall is an H-shaped Colonial Revival structure built in 1912 to a design by the Boston firm of Andrews, Jaques & Rantoul. The library, which stands across the street, was built in 1895 in a Jacobethan (English) Revival style, its exterior made of ashlar granite with sandstone trim.

The Broad Sound North Entrance Channel or Boston North Channel is the deepest of three shipping channels connecting Boston Harbor to Massachusetts Bay near Boston, Massachusetts. For this reason, almost all deep-draft ships use this channel. The 1,500-foot-wide (460 m) channel starts south of the Deer Island Light at the eastern end of the President’s Roads anchorage and proceeds northeastward to Broad Sound, passing eastward of Finn's Ledge.
